We just returned from Italy. Spending a day in Capri with Salvatore was
certainly a highlight of our trip. He got us to the Blue Grotto and two
towns on a very comfortable tour bus at a leasurely pace. As
importantly,
he brought us to a wonderful restaurant that was not a tourist trap in
that
the food was authentic, delicious and reasonably priced. It was the best
pizza we had in Italy (thin crust).
Salvatore spoke English well. He told us great stories and joked around
with us. It was like visiting Capri with your long lost uncle. He was
charming and my wife felt very comfortable chatting it up with him.
I've been to Italy many times but this was the first time we went on a
guided tour. It was worth every euro because you get a more intimate
understanding of where you are and its importance through history. As
for
Salvatore, he'll take great care of you.
Next time, we're going to Pompeii and we're going to book our tour in
advance with Salvatore's son, Michele. We can't wait. They are wonderful
people or dare I say friends!

My husband and I and another couple stayed on Capri from March 21st to
March 24th. Michele of Tours of Capri met us promptly at our hotel on
the
isle and took us on a wonderful tour of the island. We also got to take
a
boat ride around the island which was the highlight of the day. The next
day we met Michele and his driver ( with a very nice Mercedes van) in
Sorrento to start our tour of the Amalfi coast. Just a spectacular ride
and
Michele stopped along the way so we could take pictures. It was my 50th
birthday and Michele took us to his family's home in the town of Amailfi
and he gave us some homemade wine and brought me a wonderful birthday
cake.
A very nice and thoughtful thing to do!
We then crossed the mountain to the town of Pompeii where Michele's
cousin
Sasha met us. We spent two hours with Sasha who's knowledge of Pompeii
was
impressive.
Our tour ended in Naples in which Michele made sure we made our ferry
back
to Capri. Our expectations of Tours of Capri exceeded our expectations
and
we would highly recommend them for a private tour. We truly missed being
with Michele and hope to see him again in future travels.

Michele spent a day with us showing us the beautiful Isle of Capri. He is a
very informative, outgoing, easy to talk to guide. His English is perfect.
We were 4 adults and a baby. He knew just where to take us and the perfect
out of the way spot with delicious food for lunch.
Although the weather didn't cooperate at first, he came well prepared for
that and almost cheered the rain away. He taught our almost 2 year old
grandchild several words in Italian.
Upon return to Naples, he spent time helping us get bus tickets and
arranging for a taxi to transfer us another day. Certainly above and beyond
what we expected.

Michele was prompt (early, actually, as
were we) and absolutely knew what he was doing and how to see the most in
the best time. We had to skip the blue grotto as it was closed but the trip
around the island was awesome. We couldn't have asked for a better tour
guide. He provided flexability in the time we spent at various attractions,
shopping, and eating. His recommendation for a restaurant for lunch was
right on target. We toured Capri, Anacapri, rode the chair lift and
funiculare.

We cannot say enough about our experience on
a day trip to Capri. On the boat ride over we were approached by a very
nice man who told us that he had a small tour group he was taking around
the island for the day and he had room for two more people if we would like
to join them. He quoted us a very reasonalbe price and left us alone to
decide if we wished to join them. Salvatore Cioffi was that kind and
charming the whole day. It was Salvatore who made us feel that availing
ourselves of his services would be well worth the fee and he didn't let us
down. His knowledge of Capri, the stories he told, the visit to the Blue
Groto, AnaCapri, lunch, shopping and his no rush approach to his group made
the day such a pleasure. As we spoke little Italian and the rest of the
group spoke little English, everything Salvatore said had to be relayed in
both languages. His humor and charm are what makes us want to say that when
we go back we will definitely contact Tours of Capri and will highly
recommend it to any of our friends and relatives traveling to Italy. Thank

This private tour is a must do. The tour
guide, Michele made the trip more fun with his jokes and kept us entertain
the whole time but also giving us time to be by ourselves. Michele was very
informative, well organised and he made sure we arrive early to view the
blue grotto before it was closed due to bad weather that day.
Also, Michele took us to a local restaurant at anacapri and I must say
they make very good pizza at a reasonable price.

We are just back from what might be the most
wonderful day of any vacation we have ever taken. As senior travelers we
wanted to see all Capri had to offer at a slower pace due to a double knee
replacement. Michele Cioffi met us at the cruise ship port, we took the
hydrofoil to Capri, took a taxi to Anacapri to begin our journey. So
beautiful and breathtaking, we immediately went to the steps for the Blue
Grotto so as not to miss the chance to go inside and we did not have to
wait with the groves of tourists. The fee and tip is certainly worth the
experience of the Grotto. We took the chairlift to Capris highest point,
what a view from the panoramic terraces. Once back down via the chair lift,
we enjoyed a great lunch at a local family restaurant and were off to see
Villa San Michele a beautiful place perched on the brink of the cliffs
above Capri. Coming back we stopped for a bit of shopping and hopped in our
taxi and went down to Capri town. Here we walked a bit and looked at a few
shops, enjoyed the clock tower and sights and took the funicular to Marina
Grande. We enjoyed a drink while waiting for our boat which took us on a
tour around the entire island. The coast of Capri is breakhtakingly
beautiful. Our captain gave us so much information during the trip showing
us the Blue Grotto, Sailors Cave, Coral Cave, Emerald Grotto, homes of the
rich and famous and on and on. Having an experienced person like Michele
made our day totally stress free as he purchased all tickets, we did not
have to wait in lines, our table reservation was made prior to our arrival
for lunch and no time was waisted during our day with him. When we parted
at the cruise ship port after a ride back via the hyfrofoil we felt as if
we had made a wonderful new friend. This magical day would not have been
possible without the patience and knowledge of our guide and the services
of Tours of Capri. Thank you Michele for helping us have such wonderful
memories of our day in Capri.
