Description

Hang on to your hats!

Join us for an exhilarating drive along the corniche (cliffside) road of the magnificent Amalfi Coast, with an English-speaking guide, in a comfortable touring car. We’ll pick you up at your hotel or cruise ship for the outdoor adventure of a lifetime.

On the Sorrento Peninsula we’ll look beyond the cliffs to the glorious vista of Mt. Vesuvius and the glistening Bay of Naples. This view has inspired kings and popes and is the subject of many an author’s reveries.

We’ll take the world-renowned Amalfi Drive across the Peninsula from Sorrento to Amalfi, noting tucked away villages and breathtaking vistas along this narrow Roman road. In our travels we’ll pass through the small communities of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini with their colorful dwellings and lush gardens.

When we find ourselves just above Positano, we’ll stop at a spectacular viewpoint to gaze upon the sprawling seaside town below. We’ll descend to town via the pedestrian area. Once a thriving hub of maritime commerce, Positano gained popularity in the ‘50s with a mention in a Steinbeck novel. The town is known for its Limoncello and the mysterious black Madonna of Santa Maria Assunta.

Our next picturesque destination is Amalfi itself, the main town along the coastal road. In the main square lies the famous Duomo di Amalfi. Dedicated to St. Andrew the Apostle, whose relics lie within, it rises imposingly from the Piazza del Duomo and dates to the 9th Century.

Ravello is the last magnificent stop on our tour. Resting high in the mountains, overlooking the turquoise waters below, Ravello’s twisting lanes and flowering beauty will charm you. Through the millennia, artists and writers have flocked to this creative oasis for inspiration. An ancient cathedral, the Duomo di Ravello, is in the Piazza del Vescovado. It was erected in the year 1087.

The Amalfi Coast Tour can be customized to accommodate personal interests.
